Abstract

Background
Several studies with surveys have been published to characterize Post Acute Sequelae of Covid-19 (PASC). However, less is known about the primary care use and diagnoses before and after PASC.
Objectives
We investigate whether the registered diagnoses have changed between the years 2018-2022 (feb) with a focus on respiratory and PASC symptoms
Methods
Registered diagnoses were extracted from a data warehouse in Stockholm Region (VAL) for all health care data. All data is pseudonymized. A case-control study including sex- and age matched 18?65-year-old patients diagnosed with PASC, but not hospitalized for Covid-19, and healthy controls will be compared 6 months before and after PASC diagnosis. Conditional logistic regression will be used to calculate odds ratios adjusted for socio-economic status
Results
Preliminary results show an increase in some diagnoses in the age group 18-65 years, between 2018- 2022, as you can see in pictures 1. Between spring and autumn 2020, spirometry clinics were closed due to aerosol infection. Despite this, over 10000 individuals have been newly diagnosed with asthma (J458).
Conclusions
Based on the diagnosis codes that were initially analyzed, an increase in certain diagnoses can be seen that mirrors symptoms of PASC. Further analyses are important to determine the prevalence of PASC and its symptom diagnoses.
