Bronchiectasis is rapidly increasing in prevalence. Recent data from the EMBARC registry, an ERS supported international registry, shows that management is suboptimal according to guidelines. Patients suffer frequent exacerbations and severe symptoms which can be improved with the use of airway clearance, antibiotic treatment and other therapies. Bronchiectasis is a rapidly developing field and new therapies are in development.
