European Respiratory Journal

The European Respiratory Journal (ERJ) - current impact factor 24.9 - is the flagship journal of ERS. It publishes clinical and experimental work relating to all aspects of adult and paediatric respiratory medicine, including cell biology, epidemiology, immunology, oncology, imaging, occupational medicine, intensive care, sleep medicine and thoracic surgery.



ERJ Open Research

ERJ Open Research - current impact factor 4.6 - is a fully open access original research journal. The journal aims to publish high-quality work in all fields of respiratory science and medicine, covering basic science, clinical translational science and clinical medicine.


European Respiratory Review

The European Respiratory Review (ERR) - current impact factor 7.5 - is an open access journal, providing an update on medicine, science and surgery for respiratory professionals. The ERR contains state-of-the-art review articles, editorials and correspondence, in addition to summaries of the most important recent research findings and published studies.



Breathe is ERS's open access clinical educational publication. It aims to bring high-quality practice-focused educational reviews, cases and viewpoints to a wide audience. This year, for the first time, Breathe received its first impact factor of 2.


ERS Monograph

The ERS Monograph is ERS's in-depth book series. Each Monograph covers a specific area of respiratory medicine, giving clinicians at all levels a concise, comprehensive guide to symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.


ERS Handbooks

The ERS Handbooks and ERS Practical Handbooks are compact guides to broad areas of the respiratory field. The series now covers adult, paediatric and sleep respiratory medicine, a companion volume of self-assessment questions, and invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
