Session aims
to explain the global burden and challenges of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); to provide an update on ‘treatable traits’ for advanced COPD patients beyond ‘regular care’, covering advanced care planning, pulmonary rehabilitation, lung volume reduction and other innovative bronchoscopic modalities, chronic noninvasive ventilation and lung transplantation; to provide an update on the latest insights into new innovative treatment options for severe COPD patients; to advocate the use of a multidisciplinary team meeting for management of severe COPD patients.
