Session aims
to discuss pivotal role of imaging in diagnosis and follow-up of patients with sarcoidosis; to point out the most appropriate imaging studies, stressing their advantages in various forms of sarcoidosis; to emphasise the important role of high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) for detection and assessment of subtle parenchymal lesions and abnormalities of lung structures; to present role of HRCT and newly emerging photon counting CT (PCCT) in differentiating active inflammation from irreversible lung disease and fibrosis; to discuss use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for evaluating the involvement of the myocardium in sarcoidosis, as well as increased interest in the role of diffusion-weighted MRI for the characterisation of mediastinal lymphadenopathy.
