Overview

This webinar will see an expert panel discuss the on the ERS Clinical Practice Guideline on treatment of pulmonary chronic graft-versus-host disease in adults.

Pulmonary chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGvHD) is a less common manifestation of cGvHD but is of great concern due to its severity and poor prognosis. Optimal management of patients with pulmonary cGvHD is complicated and no standardised approach is available.

Educational aims

The webinar will provide evidence-based recommendations for the treatment of adults with lung cGvHD phenotype bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS). It will include specific details regarding a stepwise approach to therapy, including practical information regarding follow-up and supportive care.

Topics

  • The webinar will discuss treatment options currently used to manage pulmonary cGvHD/BOS and their efficacy as evidenced in the literature.
  • It will highlight those areas where more studies are needed and provide recommendations for future research.
  • A clinical case will be included for illustrative purposes and discussion.

Target audience

  • Clinicians
  • Pulmonologists
  • Haematologists
  • Transplant physicians
  • Trainees
  • (Specialist) nurses

Format

This webinar will include 45 minutes of presentation, followed by interactive panel discussion and Q&A from participants.

Learning outcomes

After this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Determine the best treatment options for a patient with pulmonary cGvHD/BOS.
  • Identify the risks/benefits for each therapy.
  • Understand the importance of further research and inclusion of patients in clinical trials to further optimise care for patients with pulmonary cGvHD/BOS.

CME credit

An application for accreditation of this webinar has been made to the European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP) for 1 CME credit per 1-hour attendance. If accredited, the CME credit will be granted upon attendance of at least 60 minutes during the live webinar only.

What is a webinar?

A webinar closely simulates a lecture-based teaching experience. The speaker can interact with the audience, just as in a classroom setting. During the webinar, you will be asked to share your opinion on issues related to the topic using interactive polls.

All participants will be able to hear the lecturer and see the slides throughout the presentation. As a participant you will be able to pose questions or discuss ideas with the other participants via the text chat facility and the speaker will respond to the questions via the microphone.
