Expanding your ultrasound skills beyond the pleura and lungs and advanced ultrasound-guided procedures: To provide a solid theoretical framework for development of skills in ultrasonography; to encourage evidence-based practice where possible; to highlight the utility of thoracic ultrasonography for purposes other than identification of pleural fluid, including assessment of other thoracic structures; to describe methods of safely performing thoracic interventions (including image-guided pleural biopsies) after suitable training;
