Phenotypes of sleep-disordered breathing in different comorbidities and diagnosis and management of sleep-disordered breathing: To explain the importance of distinguishing different central sleep apnoea phenotypes and associated syndromes; to compare the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of obesity hypoventilation with or without obstructive sleep apnoea; to provide an update on various aspects of sleep-disordered breathing in patients with pulmonary vascular disease; to discuss the occurrence and significance of obstructive sleep apnoea and other types of sleep-disordered breathing in patients with neuromuscular and chest wall disorders; to describe available diagnostic tools for obstructive sleep apnoea and to explain their indications, advantages and drawbacks; to discuss the appropriate selection of different positive airway pressure modalities; to summarise and explain supportive care and rehabilitation strategies; to compare different follow-up strategies for patients with sleep-disordered breathing and to describe their application in the clinical context.
