Practical information

The Lung Science Conference will be attended by professionals involved in delivering respiratory care, including physicians, scientists, and other health care specialists. In addition to this core audience, trainees and technicians will also benefit from various interactive sessions. All registrants shall be enriched through the comprehensive programming and stimulating discussions.

The Lung Science Conference will deliver the rigorous science and clinical relevance attendees expect, along with exciting changes designed to deliver that content effectively and efficiently for every attendee.

By taxi

There is a taxi stand within the perimeter of the airport at arrivals level. If you decide to take a taxi, we suggest you ask the driver in advance about the fare.

The fare on the taxi meter should read €3.25 (daytime pick-up) or €3.90 (night time pick-up: 9pm - 6am). Outside the city limits, the fare is calculated from the number of kilometers travelled and the established price per kilometer. Please note that luggage carries a surcharge of €1.60. The journey should cost around €55 and take around 30 minutes depending on traffic.

Alternatively, you may also purchase a taxi voucher at the Turismo de Lisboa Ask me Lisboa desk, located at Lisbon's Airport Arrivals Hall, with fixed prices. The day time rate from Lisbon Airport to Estoril is €53.4, whilst the night time (9pm - 6am) rate is €64.

By public transport

There is a direct train from Cais do Sodré Train Station to Estoril, please follow this link for more information. To get to Cais do Sodré Train Station, you can take either a taxi or the AEROBUS running every 20 minutes from 7:00 to 23:00 (22:50 on weekends). The journey takes up to 30 minutes and cost 4€.

Once at the station, take the train (one train every 20-30 minutes and every 10 minutes at peak hours) towards Cascais and alight at Estoril which is in front of the waterfront and 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel. The journey takes 40 minutes and cost €2.4. Please refer to the map below. For further details, please visit the website.

3. Networking Events and Meals

Please find below all the information regarding the Networking Events and Meals during the Lung Science Conference:

• OPENING SESSION (for all LSC delegates)

The opening session of the conference on Thursday, 9th March, will take place from 18:00 to 19:15. Followed by a poster session with networking until 21:00.

• MEALS DURING THE CONFERENCE (for all LSC delegates)

In addition to the networking mentioned above, lunches, coffee-breaks will be served throughout the conference as well as a dinner on Friday and Saturday evening for all delegates of the Conference.

4. CME credits Networking Events and Meals

It is expected that all participants will attend the entire conference. Attendance will therefore be monitored every day with a badge scan at the entrance every morning. The certificates of attendance and CME credits will be granted to the participants post-event, based on evidence of attendance and participation.

The ERS has been granted the status of trusted provider by the European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP), which accredits the ERS Lung Science Conference. As per the strict accreditation rules, each participant can only receive the number of credits he/she is entitled to according to his/her actual participation at the event once he/she has completed the feedback form (Cf. criteria 9 and 23 of UEMS2016.20).
