to provide an overview of the concept of preconception origins of respiratory disease and allergy with a specific focus on immunity and infectious disease; to provide an overview of the current epidemiological evidence and to provide insights into possible mechanisms; to provide an overview of the field and explain how exposures and individual factors may be able to affect respiratory health and allergy in future generations.
