7th Sleep and Breathing Conference, 2023 - Prague

Organised by the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS), the Sleep and Breathing conference is the largest pan-European meeting of its type and the only meeting offering an integrated approach to the investigation and treatment of sleep disorders.

Sleep and Breathing 2023 took place in Prague from 20-22 April, 2023. It welcomed interested professionals from all levels of experience to update their knowledge and skills, and to network with other respiratory professionals specialising in sleep respiratory medicine and science.

Session aims

Aim of this session is to provide an update on the recently terminated ADVENT-HF trial in patients with sleep disordered breathing and chronic heart failure (CHF). Results of substudies of the SERVE-HF trial will also be discussed, with a special focus on the role of sympathetic nervous activity in patients with central sleep apnea/Cheyne Stokes respiration and CHF. Finally, new perspectives in pediatric sleep apnea will be discussed.
