Virtual academy of lung transplantation - November 2024

 

The virtual academy of lung transplantation provided state-of-the-art knowledge on a wide array of issues regarding lung transplantation. It included innovative and interactive sessions such as pro/con debates and workshops on challenging cases.

The virtual academy caters to the educational needs of participants with a basic and advanced understanding of the subject.

Throughout the programme, participants gained an insight into referral criteria and selection of potential lung transplant candidates; donor organs; supply, management and selection; early and long-term management and care of lung transplant recipients; immunosuppression and its side-effects.

Specific clinical and organisational issues for newly established or running lung transplant programmes were discussed.
