Overview

The use of chest CT scan in the management of difficult-to-treat or severe asthma has to be clarified. In patients with uncontrolled asthma, chest CT can help to identify comorbidities such as bronchiectasis or help the respiratory physician in diagnosing ABPA or EGPA. In patients remaining poorly controlled despite maximal therapy, including targeted treatments, chest CT scans might highlight the presence of mucus plugs and the involvement of the small airway disease (air-trapping).

This webinar includes 45 minutes of presentations, followed by a 15-minute facilitated question and discussion session.

Following this webinar, participants will be able to:

• Know when to use chest CT scan in the management of difficult-to-treat or severe asthma
• Learn how to interpret chest CT in patients with severe asthma (for example how to recognise bronchiectasis, distal airway dysfunction, airway remodelling, infiltrates, mucus plugs)

An application for accreditation of this webinar has been made to the European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP) for 1 CME credit per 1-hour attendance. If accredited, the CME credit will be granted upon attendance of at least 60 minutes during the live webinar only.
