Recurring monthly and chaired by European Respiratory Journal Chief Editor Prof. James Chalmers, Respiratory News Live will present respiratory news from the past month. Bulletins will cover the hottest topics, the newest therapies, breaking news, and the most significant scientific developments. It will also highlight any developments on the horizon.

About the event Chair: Prof. James Chalmers

Prof. James Chalmers MBChB, PhD is the Rhodes Chair of Experimental Therapeutics at the University of Oxford, and serves as a clinician-scientist in respiratory medicine, and an honorary consultant.

 

Prof. Chalmers is also Chief Editor of the European Respiratory Journal. His clinical work focuses on difficult respiratory infections and bronchiectasis, and his research portfolio encompasses immunology, microbiome, mucociliary clearance, and translational experimental medicine in lung disease, including bronchiectasis, COPD and acute respiratory infections.

 

He has published more than 500 peer-reviewed manuscripts, and chaired major European respiratory guideline panels on topics such as bronchiectasis, COPD, and COVID-19. He also chairs the EMBARC European Bronchiectasis Network, leads international EMBARC studies and trials, and is a lead author on key bronchiectasis publications.
