Webinar series overview

Many ERS Early Career Members would like to pursue a career in research or are currently pursuing careers in research. High-quality webinars on a career in research are scarce. Therefore, a webinar series on careers in research will be invaluable for early career members interested in research.

Educational aims:

  • The webinars will give honest and practical advice on how to strive towards a successful career in academic respiratory medicine.
  • Webinars will either focus on how to perform specific types of research (such as systematic reviews or scientific communication) or will focus on important applications in an academic career (such as PhD funding applications or interviews for a research position).
  • Benefits for participants include learning from renowned respiratory researchers and recent successful applicants to competitive research programmes.
  • The webinars will also signpost attendees to current ERS guidance and initiatives relevant for each topic covered. This will help participants to have their own successful careers in research.
