Session aims
To summarise recent outputs of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and World Health Organization (WHO)-Europe initiative on chronic respiratory disease, latest results of the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021, International Respiratory Coalition, Global Alliance on Chronic Diseases (GACD), Federation of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS) and other international initiatives on chronic respiratory diseases; to explain new developments for these and other respiratory conditions; to expand the network of respiratory collaborators. The forthcoming Joint Report of the WHO Regional Office for Europe and ERS on Chronic Respiratory Disease in the WHO European Region: Towards Health Equity in 2050, together with GBD 2021, the International Respiratory Coalition and other international initiatives, focuses on population-based chronic respiratory disease findings, research cooperation and future developments. A brief update by all participating sides will be given at this event.
