Session aims
To introduce a novel and updated approach to risk stratification for pulmonary embolism (PE), exploring new tools and methodologies to more precisely and efficiently identify patients at higher risk; to explore and discuss the latest advances in the diagnosis of PE, covering new technologies, imaging methods and clinical approaches that enhance the accuracy and timeliness of diagnosis; to provide a detailed, evidence-based review of the diagnosis of PE and optimal prevention strategies for venous thromboembolism in pregnant women, considering both maternal and fetal safety; to analyse secondary prevention strategies for PE in cancer patients, examining therapeutic and prophylactic approaches that address the specific complexities of this patient population.
