Session aims
To present the increasing evidence that antenatal, genetic and exposure factors influence not only the course of asthma but also its onset; to discuss data from large cohort studies and interventional trials that suggest the potential for primary prevention of asthma; to discuss asthma management strategies and the differences between children and adults care, as well asthe need of an overarching strategy to ensure a seamless transition for the patient from childhood to adulthood.
