Taking place on 24 February, this ERS Vision Live panel discussion is entitled 'Sarcoidosis - bringing innovation into clinical practice'.
The expert panellists will discuss key areas, including:
• Innovation in diagnostics.
• New insights in phenotyping/endotyping sarcoidosis patients.
• New perspectives in management, treatment and clinical trials.

• Francesco is Professor of Medicine and Head of the Center for Interstitial and Rare Lung Disease at the Ruhrlandklinik University Hospital in Essen, Germany.
• His research interests include sarcoidosis, IPF, autoimmune ILD, and pulmonary alveolar proteinosis with a special focus on biomarkers, genetics, and AI applications in radiology.
• Francesco is actively involved with the European Respiratory Society (ERS) since 2014, has founded EuPAPNet, the European Network for pulmonary alveolar proteinosis, and is Coordinator of the Sarcoidosis Core Network within ERN-LUNG.
• He is member of the Editorial Board of the European Respiratory Journal, Chest and Associate Editor of Respirology.
• Adriane is a pulmonologist and sarcoidosis specialist based in University Medical Center Utrecht and the Interstitial Lung diseases Center of Excellence Nieuwegein, Netherlands.
• She is active in the research field of sarcoidosis, pulmonary fibrosis, CTD-ILD with a special interest in biomarkers, treatment and eHealth/telemonitoring.
• She is actively involved in the ERS as organiser of the ERS school of sarcoidosis, which is held yearly both live and virtually.
• As of 2005, she is a member of the executive committee of the World Association of Sarcoidosis and other Granulomatous disorders (WASOG).
• Karol is a physician specializing in interstitial lung disease (ILD) with special focus on sarcoidosis and a PhD candidate at the Medical University of Lodz in Poland.
• Karol was a visiting scientist at the Ruhrlandklinik - Universitätsmedizin Essen.
• As an early career member of the ERS ILD Assembly, he is involved in collaborative research and professional development within the ERS.
• His contributions to pulmonary medicine have been recognised with multiple travel grants and the Medal of the 90th Anniversary of the Polish Respiratory Society.
• Natalia is an Assistant Professor at the Division of Inflammation and Respiratory Medicine, Department of Medicine Solna at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden.
• She is a Team Leader at the Center for Molecular Medicine, leading genomic research on sarcoidosis.
• Natalia is the former chair of the World Association of Sarcoidosis and Other Granulomatous Disorders (WASOG) 2023 Congress and serves on the Executive Board of WASOG.
• She is an active member of the ERS assembly/group 12.03 "Sarcoidosis and other granulomatous ILD/DPLD," often serving as session chair and reviewer of congress abstracts.
• Elena is Full Professor and Director of the Respiratory Diseases Unit at Hospital University of Siena, Italy.
• She is Coordinator of the Tuscany Regional Referral Centre for Lung Transplantation and Rare Lung Diseases.
• Her clinical interests include connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung diseases (ILD), idiopathic interstitial pneumonias (IIPs), sarcoidosis and hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP), Pulmonary Langerhans'cell histiocytosis (PLCH) and lymphangioleyomyomatosis (LAM).
• She is past Group Chair for the ERS Assembly 12.02 Interstitial Lung Diseases and has published several manuscripts about biomarkers in different diffuse lung diseases.
