Overview

Join us for an insightful webinar that will explore the latest updates in tuberculosis (TB) preventative therapy and treatment regimens, with a focus on both isoniazid preventive therapy (IPT) and treatment approaches for drug-sensitive and multidrug-resistant TB.

This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the recent WHO guidelines, including the introduction of shorter and safer regimens, expanded eligibility criteria, and the importance of systematic screening. Participants will gain valuable insights into the advantages and limitations of short-course TB preventative therapies, strategies for integrating TB and HIV services, and key considerations for drug safety, monitoring, and adherence.

The webinar will also cover the practical and programmatic implications of implementing these new guidelines in diverse healthcare settings, helping healthcare professionals identify eligible patient populations and navigate challenges in delivering effective TB care.

What is a webinar?

A webinar closely simulates a lecture-based teaching experience. The speaker can interact with the audience, just as in a classroom setting. During the webinar, you will be asked to share your opinion on issues related to the topic using interactive polls.

All participants will be able to hear the lecturer and see the slides throughout the presentation. As a participant you will be able to pose questions or discuss ideas with the other participants via the text chat facility and the speaker will respond to the questions via the microphone.
