Session aims
to provide an introduction on cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), including the basics of interpretation, in the context of clinical respiratory practice; to discuss the different patterns of abnormalities detected by CPET in order to help clinicians utilise this testing in respiratory clinics and help with management of patients; to provide a step-by-step approach to interpretation of CPET results using worked case examples; to describe the physiological abnormalities that can be detected by CPET and how these correlate with symptoms in patients with respiratory illnesses.
