Session aims
to provide an overview of basic and translational scientific highlights and major achievements in the respiratory field within the past year, focusing on novel insights into interactions of structural lung cells within their environment, including mechanical aspects and interactions with immune cells obtained by innovative technologies such as spatial transcriptomics and proteomics; to provide an overview of various key publications that are expected to have a major impact in the respiratory field with high clinical relevance based on promising results in pre-clinical models; to cover a variety of pulmonary diseases, including asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung fibrosis and respiratory infections; to discuss the potential clinical translation of novel therapeutic strategies.
