Session aims
to bring together leading voices in global health, economics, and biomedical science and reframe the role of prevention in respiratory health; to explore why prevention must move from aspiration to implementation and how we can get there; to empasize that prevention is no longer optional, but essential; to equip attendees with a multi-dimensional view of prevention: not only why it matters, but how it can be embedded into policy, individual practice, and research; to highlight the urgency of integrating prevention into respiratory health agendas globally, with insights from global health authorities such as the WHO; to examine the economic case for prevention, showing how investments in primary and secondary prevention preventive care can reduce costs and improve population outcomes; to present the latest scientific evidence supporting prevention across the life course — including behavioral, environmental, and biomedical interventions; to spark dialogue and action among clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders for the practical implementation of preventive strategies.
