Session aims
to discuss the impact of common respiratory comorbidities (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema and interstitial lung disease) on the management of thoracic malignancies; to explore multidisciplinary approaches for tailoring treatment plans based on the comorbidity burden; to discuss the challenges and strategies for lung cancer diagnosis in patients with severe respiratory comorbidities; to discuss the latest advances in treatment modalities, including immunotherapy, targeted therapy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery, and their implications in patients with comorbidities; to discuss supportive care strategies, including managing complications and improving patients’ quality of life.
