to discuss the global burden of acute respiratory failure, current diagnostics, current supportive measures and the absence of targeted treatment options; to explain the latest translational insights into the pathophysiology of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS); to differentiate the most promising immunomodulators and describe their potential in the context of a precision-medicine approach; to discuss the global perspective of caregivers and patients on participation in precision medicine adaptive platform trials and the long-term consequences of acute respiratory failure; to present some results of the clinical research collaboration Panther.
