to discuss the identification of severely impaired patients with chronic respiratory disease who can benefit from current and emerging forms of exercise training; to define the current and emerging concepts and evidence in aerobic exercise training for severely impaired patients with chronic respiratory disease; to analyse the practical application, efficacy and methods of resistance training in severely impaired patients with chronic respiratory diseases.
