Overview

There is a growing prevalence of e-cigarette use among adolescents and young adults across the globe, yet many healthcare professionals lack up-to-date knowledge on its health impacts. With emerging evidence linking vaping to respiratory harm and long-term consequences, there is a clear need for education.

Format

One-hour webinar format: 45 minutes for presentation, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session.

Learning outcomes

Following this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify current trends in e-cigarette use among children and adolescents
  • Understand the warnings/labelling on e-cigarette packaging sold to youth/adolescents and their toxicological effects.
  • Understand the policy perspective for regulating e-cigarette use among youth
  • Translate this knowledge into counselling strategies to support vaping prevention and cessation among young patients.

An application for accreditation of this webinar has been made to the European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP) for 1 CME credit per 1-hour attendance. If accredited, the CME credit will be granted upon attendance of at least 60 minutes during the live webinar only.

All participants will be able to hear the lecturer and see the slides throughout the presentation. As a participant you will be able to pose questions or discuss ideas with the other participants via the text chat facility and the speaker will respond to the questions via the microphone.
