ERS Cough Conference 2026

15 - 17 July 2026 | London, United Kingdom

Abstracts and bursaries

Abstract submission for the ERS Cough Conference 2026 is now open.

For its inaugural edition, the conference theme will be "Chronic Cough as a Disease".

All respiratory professionals with an interest in chronic cough are invited to submit abstracts for this event. Abstracts must focus on cough-related topics, including epidemiology, mechanisms, clinical management, pharmacological development, monitoring, and patient perspectives.

The programme is organised in collaboration with NeuroCough, and we strongly encourage submissions that include NeuroCough-related research.

Why write an abstract?

An abstract is a shortened version of a research paper. This is a great opportunity as:

  • it provides the first chance for you to announce and cite the preliminary findings of your study;
  • it allows you to communicate your findings to your peers and get their feedback;
  • it is the starting point for achieving the ultimate aim of a research project: the writing and publishing of a full paper in peer-reviewed literature.

Accepted abstracts will be presented by the author in one of the following:

  • Oral presentation session
  • Poster session

Guidelines:

Accepted abstracts will be published in the ERJ Open Research

Bursaries

A limited number of bursaries are available, which provide recipients with a free registration to the Cough Conference and accommodation for the duration of the event. Potential applicants must submit an abstract in order to be considered for a bursary. To be eligible to apply, you must be:

  • A member of the ERS
  • Able to demonstrate a keen interest in chronic cough research and its relevance to your future career

Please note that only one bursary can be allocated per person per calendar year.

Selection from the pool of applicants will be made by the organising committee based on the submission of a curriculum vitae.
