2014 - The many faces of stem cells in respiratory diseases

This seminar addressed the emerging field of stem cell research in respiratory diseases. Its objectives are to gather scientists and clinicians from different subspecialties to foster exchange and increase knowledge about stem cell research in general and in the lung in particular. Recent years has led to a tremendous increase in our understanding of the origin and function of the different stem/progenitor cell subtypes within the lung, and the potential therapeutic use for future cell-based therapies is exceedingly superb.
